Fort McMurray owned and operated, the home-based ananda center for balance promotes a sense of balance and overall wellness in the lives of individuals living and working in the Wood Buffalo Region of Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Heather Thomas

Hatha Yoga
Heather Thomas, a graduate of the South Okanagan Yoga Academy's Teacher Training Program is an Experienced and Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT200, RYT500) with both the North American-based Yoga Alliance and the International Yoga Teachers Association of Australia (IYTA). She has training in all levels of traditional Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Pranayama, Yoga Nidra, and Meditation practices. Heather currently teaches for Keyano's Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre, runs small group yoga classes out of her home studio and offers private lessons on request.

CranioSacral & Massage Therapy
A graduate of the MH VICARS School of Massage Therapy in Edmonton, Heather is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) with the NHPC and is qualified to offer Relaxation, Therapeutic as well as Pregnancy and PostPartum Massage services.

Please note that Heather is currently moving towards a specialization in CranioSacral Therapy and will only be taking on new clients interested in this type of massage modality.

Reiki
Heather is a Certified Reiki Master Teacher. As a Reiki Master, she is able to teach Reiki courses and offer workshops. She also offers reiki energy services both in person or over distances.

"I just wanted to send you a thank you.  I enjoyed your meditation yoga classes while I was in Fort McMurray.  Now that I am at home in British Columbia I miss your classes.  They will stand out in my memories. MASSAGE THERAPY:
"I was referred to Heather by one of my co-workers. I have had fibromyalgia for over 20 years, and as most people with fibromyalgia do, I have tried many remedies, taken many pills, seen many doctors and still my days were spent in pain.  I suffer from severe bouts of Neuropathy as well.  For quite some time I had hobbled around as my left foot was hurting so bad. I had a massage appt with Heather and I told her how much pain I was in and that walking was nearly impossible, especially because of the pain in my left foot.  Well Heather worked her "magic" and I can honestly say that I was sceptical that my foot would get better. About two days after my massage with Heather, my husband commented that I was no longer limping.  I stopped in my tracks and was amazed that he was right, the pain was gone...and it has not come back. I can honestly state that since I started seeing Heather I am feeling so much better and she has my highest recommendation. In my books Heather is a credit to her profession."
