Therapeutic Yoga - Also called "Pre-Yoga"; therapeutic yoga takes the premise of helping the body move out of pain and into comfort. This type of physical practice is very gentle and works specifically at areas of tightness and dys-function in the body. Therapeutic Yoga is perfect for persons who have a desire to "get out of pain" and improve body movement and functionality.

Restorative Yoga - Asana practice similar to traditional hatha yoga in form, but taken at a much slower and more therapeutic pace. Restorative Yoga is specifically designed for persons recovering from stress, physical ailments, injuries or dis-ease. Postures are held in a completely supported way for 5 to 20 minutes each. This practice is excellent for persons who are looking for gentle relaxation with physical benefits.

Traditional Hatha Yoga - Asana practice involves some vinyasa flow sequences and holding poses for strength and flexibility. Always working with the breath, the asanas are held in stillness while using intention and concentrated awareness. By increasing space in the body, the physical practice links directly to the mind resulting in a sense of balance and spiritual awareness. All levels are taught, from beginner through to advanced.

Incorported into each of the above types of Yoga practice are some or all of:

Freedom Style - Erich Schiffmann’s Freedom Style yoga is all about being free to do what feels right in the moment. This class encourages students to find their own natural alignment through experimentation and inner listening. “Freedom style yoga is an intuitive approach to both yoga AND life, and can be summarized as; not deciding in advance what to do or not do."

Pranayama Breathing Techniques - Breathwork is integral to any yoga practice. There are at least 10 breathing techniques that can be employed for differing purposes and goals. Different techniques are used according to type of class and focus.

Meditation - Meditation is an important part of any physical or spiritual practice. It helps to increase oxygenation of the blood, calm the nerves and settle the mind, it aids with insomnia, blood pressure, heart issues, improves outlook on life and increases overall wellness. Meditation or relaxation is incorporated into every class.

Yoga Nidra - Yogic Sleep is a method of deep relaxation that encourages withdrawl of the senses. Often this type of meditation involves creative visualization.
